Baru-Za Restaurant

Baru-Za Restaurant and Bar
“Inspired Urban Living”
Open Daily 10:00am – 2:00am
Website: http://www.baru-za.com
Call: 02-634-4433
Address: 135/18 Suriwongse Rd., Suriyawongse, Bangrak, Bangkok 10500

Baru Za is a very nice and elegant bar and restaurant in the Silom Suriwongse area of Bangkok. They have a modern-style look and feel, and some really great dishes to choose from on their menu. They have happy hour everyday from 2-9pm (it’s buy 1 get 1 free drinks), although the prices are a bit high, for example an order of the famous Thai spicy shrimp soup named “Tom Yum Kung” is 190 baht, not much, but noticably more expensive than most other restaurants. With that being said, I must mention, it’s WELL WORTH IT! The food is great! And they have inside area for those of you who want aircon, and outside for those who want to smoke their nasty cigarettes hehe

The Menu: Consists of japanese cuisines, many thai dishes, curries, international foods, spaghetti, and many soups and salads
What I Ate: We had the pan-fried seabass with white wine sauce, it was SO very delicous, I will definately order again, also had there famous potato salad, also delicious
The Staff: They are friendly, and can speak pretty good English too
The Bathroom: The bathroom is small, but clean, it’s in the Glitz Hotel (link) which is connected to Baru-Za

The Mango Tree restaurant in Bangkok is in the Silom area, it’s got a really nice water fountain and little bar when you first enter and the aura at Mango Tree is wonderful, sitting outside on a nice evening enjoying some famous dishes from all across Thailand, while sipping on ice cold beers.

The Mango Tree has been serving Thai foods for over 10 years, with inspiration from it’s owner Phithaya Phanphensophon, that every guest will be treated as if they are coming into you’re own home, what a great goal for a restaurant to have! I love it!!!

Their recommended dishes include Po Tuon, Yam Som-O, Shrimp Pad Thai, and Choo Chee Goong Nang and have some great cocktails also

The Menu: The menu has a TON of Thai dishes from all over Thailand, if you love thai food then you will definately love looking through the Mango Tree menu. You can see their entire menu here
What I Ate:
The Staff: The waiter at Mango Tree understood English fine, we had no problems communicating
The Bathroom: They are really tiny, but somewhat decent

Tawan Daeng is a bar, restaurant and nightclub that mostly pulls in customers interested and/or from the northeast region of Thailand called Isaan. They have a lot of nice shows with singers, dancers and all kinds of interesting entertainment, it’s really a nice place and I frequent Tawan Daeng quite often

The Menu: Their menu has decent choices for both European and Thai dishes, some German sausages, and some Tom Yam Khung with Coconut juices, the most famous Thai dish of all time, giant fresh river prawns in creamy, hot and sour soup made of herbs, it’s a wonderful Thai dish for all, served in a traditional hot pot, goes GREAT with ice cold beer!

charley browns bkk

Simply Bangkok’s oldest and most authentic Tex-Mex restaurant. Our friendly, helpful staff has been providing mouth-watering food to expats and tourists alike for over 15 years. We pride ourselves on our home-made tortillas, tacos and corn-chips and, of course, the freshest margaritas in town. Charley Browns has a nice atmosphere and a great location to start off for dinner before hitting the nightlife of the famous Sukhumvit Soi 11 nightclubs

The Menu: The menu at Charley Browns mostly consists of mexican foods, but also is well equipped with some burgers, and a nice selection of thai foods also. From the towering Nachos Supreme and the stuffed Tacos to the sizzling Fajitas and succulent Quesadillas, Charley Brown’s brings the best of the West to Bangkok. Using the freshest ingredients, they make every dish to order. And for those hard to find ingredients, they import Australian beef and New Zealand avocados. They even have a kids’ menu, low-calorie dishes and plenty of vegetarian options.
What I Ate: I enjoyed the beef tacos with guacamole dip, they were great!
The Staff: The waitresses were very friendly and spoke great English
The Bathroom: There is a guys, and girls toilet, only 1 person allowed at a time, when I tried to use the bathroom it was occupied, so I couldn’t see the toilet here

Bullys Pub review. Bullys is a great place to start your night with friends for dinner and drinks in the Sukhumvit soi Nana area. There are quite a lot of bars, pubs and restaurants nearby. As for Bullys you’ll find great western food and even some Thai specialties. They have a WIDE variety of local and imported beers, including one of the favorites Hoegaarden in pint size!

The Menu: Bully’s menu is jam packed full of awesome western dishes, lots of American and English foods, as well as tons of Thai dishes too

Gazebo Nightclub

Gazebo Nightclub
“International restaurant bar music bands club”
Open Daily 8pm – 2am
Website: http://www.gazebobkk.com and Gazebo Facebook here
Call: +66 (0)2 629 0705
Address: 44 Roof Top, Jakrapong Rd., Pranakorn Bangkok 10200

Gazebo Nightclub is right around the corner from Kao San Road, it’s a great place to sit and chill, smoking shisha and watching the band under the gazebo’s, it’s an open air rooftop area and the bands are usually pretty good. For those that prefer the clubbing scene rather than live bands, you can head inside and they have the DJ mixes and dance club area too. I don’t really like paying entrance fee, but Gazebo might actually be worth the 300 baht entrance fee. It is actually voted and ranked as the #2 best bars in the world at Lonely Planet, the article is here

The Menu: The menu is packed full of thai dishes, and lots of appetizers and finger foods. Also some pastas and some international foods. They have just about any drink and cocktail you could ask for!
What I Ate: I didnt eat anything there, only drinking my ice cold corona’s
The Staff: They are sometimes there for you, sometimes not, Friday and Saturday nights it’s almost impossible to get drinks sometimes
The Bathroom: The bathrooms there at Gazebo are pretty nice, I approve them!!!

Bed Supper Club

November 25, 2009

Bed Supperclub
“Who will you go to bed with tonight?”
Open Daily 8:30 pm – 2:00 am
website: http://www.bedsupperclub.com
Address: 26 Soi Sukhumvit 11, Sukhumvit Road, Klongtoey-nua, Wattana, Bangkok 10110 Thailand
Call: 02 651-3538

Bed Supper Club is a nice “dining in bed” experience which is best described as a unique combination of an upscale restaurant, nightclub and even can be an art gallery, theatre and stage all merged into one. The spaceship-like building looks very modernistic and the music usually varies per DJ, from dance music, trance, hip-hop and many other popular mixes and songs. You’ll surely enjoy what Bedsupper Club has to offer especially if you are looking for a great night out in Bangkok!

The Menu: The Bed Supperclub menu consists of very delicious entrees including seafoods, beef dishes, lots of veggies, salads and seafoods, and their desserts are wonderful, especially the chocolate tart with banana and hazelnut chocolate mousse, to die for! You will love the food at Bed Supperclub, but it’s a bit expensive especially compared to other options you’ll have in Bangkok, but it’s worthwhile at least to try, you’ll definately enjoy their food. Also their menu changes monthly.
What I Ate: I’ve never eaten anything yet at Bed Supper, next time I will give it a try so we can review their food
The Staff: The bartenders are very helpful and always dancing and enjoying themselves.
The Bathroom: Always very clean and are actually even pretty stylish

Conclusion: Bed Supper Club is a great place with a modern feel with nice hip hop and dance music. The food is great and the place is very popular especially amongst foreigners. In my personal experiences at Bed Supperclub, I notice it gets VERY jam packed with party goers especially on the weekends, to the point where you can barely move and sometimes gets difficult to get drinks.
