Website: http://www.indiaemporiummall.com/home.php
Call: 02-6239301
Address: 561/77 Jakkraplach Rd. Wongburapapirom Phranakorn Bangkok 10200

The India Emporium Mall (อินเดีย เอ็มโพเรี่ยม) is a nice little mall in the heart of “Little India” near Chinatown in Bangkok, off of Jakkraplach Road. It has 4 levels and consists of many clothing shops and 2nd level has TONS of cloths for sale, for rugs, bed sheets, and for furniture. Also India Emporium has tons of banks and ATMS mostly on the 3rd level, Bangkok Bank, TMB, Kasikorn Bank, and Thanachart Bank. Also the 3rd level has a tiny little game center, with ping pong, basketball, and a few computer games and racecar games also. 4th level consists of only a food center called “Food Paradise” but unfortunately most of the food shops were closed when I was there today.

What  to Eat: India Emporium first floor has an Oishi sushi bar, a tiny MK Restaurant, Black Canyon, Dunkin Donuts, and has a “Food Paradise” on 4th floor, it has a lot of  indian and thai foods, you must buy a card 1st to use for payment. About half of the Food Paradise food stands were closed though.
The Bathroom: The bathrooms are nice and clean, but they dont have toilet paper tissue in the stalls, you can buy it for 2 baht (about 5 cents)  in a machine located there in the bathroom though

Thermae Coffee House

October 23, 2009

Thermae Coffee House
Open Daily 9pm – 2am
Website: none
Call: none
Address: Sukhumvit 15, Bangkok Thailand (Downstairs from Buamchitt Hotel)

Thermae is an awesome little place downstairs from Sports bar between Sukhumvit Soi 15 and 17. It’s been around since 1965 so that must tell you something! You sit in a booth and order foods and drinks. This place has a lot of girls, I think are working as freelancers and they are all standing outside of the booths just hanging out with their friends. The food is good and relatively cheap and the beers are ice cold and they have my favorite San Mig Light with lime 🙂

The Menu: They surprised me by having lots of choices to eat, burgers, steaks, sandwiches, and tons of thai foods also
What I Ate: I’ve had the BLT sandwich, the potato chips are nice along with San Mig lights
The Staff: They can speak enough English to get your drink and food order correctly
The Bathroom: You have to go upstairs and a bit outside to use the bathroom, it’s an open bathroom with ants and bugs all over, girls doing makup, near the kitchen area, and they charge approx 5 baht per usage, the bathrooms actually suck really badly, but you can do what you have to do then wash your hands hehe

Website: http://www.scoozipizza.com
Call: 02-715-8555
Address: Esplanade Ratchada 99 Rtachadaphisek Road., Din Daeng Bangkok, 10400

Scoozi Pizzeria is a great wood-fired oven pizza in Bangkok. This from their own words: “Our pizza is baked in a wood-fired oven, recipe from Napoli, Italy. We use only high quality ingredients imported from overseas.” They sold me! hehe

The Menu: Scoozi has tons of italian dishes, pizza, ravioli, lasagna and many other pasta dishes, and also soups and salads and a small section of Thai foods too. Their specialty pizza consists of: Salmone, Prosciutto di parma, margherita, vegetariana, tonnara (tuna), frutti di mare (seafood), salsiccia, carbonara, diavola, capricciosa. They of course have the typical mushroom, ham, sausage, pepperoni etc topping pizza’s too. Don’t forget to try their Italian desserts imported from Italy, like tiramisu, nut tarts, panna cotta and many more.
What I Ate: I ordered the classic lasagna and the salmon ravioli, both were wonderful and I’ll definately go back there for more. One thing I don’t like is there is no garlic bread.
The Staff: The waitresses seemed very friendly but didnt speak English, but was still cute and in good spirit
The Bathroom: This Scoozi location is inside the Esplanade shopping center, they have a hand washing area but for actual toilets you’ll need to use the Esplanade public bathrooms.

Extras: Delivery Available. Esplanade True wifi is available

The Menu: Texas Suki most compares to MK Restaurant, they have all the meats, seafoods, veggies you can put into the hotpot and also you can get the honey roasted duck and pork, many salads, sukiyaki, dim sum, noodles, soups like the famous thai tom yum ghung, spring rolls, bbq sticks, desserts like ice in syrup, and other fresh ingredients. I was very happy about the menu, it had a ton of great dishes to choose from.
What I Ate: I ordered raw salmon suki and shrimp suki, and also gyoza, both were great, especially dipping in their barbeque sauce stuff with garlic and chili’s, it was delicious!
The Staff: The staff at Texas Suki were very friendly, but couldn’t speak English, but there is nothing wrong with pointing at what you want to get the communication rolling, all worked out just fine 🙂
The Bathroom: The toilets here were just fine as you can see in the pictures below, for Bangkok standard they were above average

Ratchada WON

September 7, 2009

Ratchada WON
Open Daily 17:00pm – 23:00pm
website: none
Call: 02-2460926
Address: Ratchada Soi 10, Bangkok, Thailand.

Summary: Ratchada Won is a Korean restaurant in Ratchada road about 20 steps away from Soi 10. The prices are fairly cheap and the menu was a bit small, but the food was actually terrific.

The Menu: The menu here mostly consists of Korean food and also what appeared to be a little bit of thai foods also, the menu is all in Korean and Thai but they do have some pictures which helps a little bit
What I Ate: I ordered #14, it is a gravy sauce with small pieces of pork, potatos and onions inside, with some steamed rice, it was GREAT, I’ll surely order it again.
The Staff: Nobody speaks English there, but the menu has Thai letters and also English language/letters and they seemed very friendly, always smiling and trying to be helpful.
The Bathroom: There is 1 unisex bathroom, the door locks and it seemed fairly clean.
