Huay Kwang Terrace

October 3, 2010

Huay Kwang Terrace
“Perfect place for a great night in Bangkok”
Open everyday 8:00pm – 5:00am
Website: none
Call:
Address: On the corner of Thanon Pracharat Bamphen and Soi 2 (also called Khet Din Daeng). (near Huai Khwang MRT Exit 3)

My friends and I were shopping around Huay Kwang night market and we heard a band from upstairs in the Huay Khwang Terrace. So we decided to go take a look, and to our surprise this place was jam packed at 3am, with live band playing popular Thai rock and pop songs, people enjoying their Heineken, Singha, and San Miguel beer towers, and eating plenty of the famous Thai cuisines like pa-nang moo, pad kra paw gai, kai jiaw moo sap, tom yum goong, and plenty others. We sat down, ordered a beer tower and some thai seafood dishes and talked the night away. This place is not too loud, so you can speak to each other at a good comfort level. I will become a regular customer here at this wonderful place! LOVE IT!

The Menu: The choices on the menu here is endless, tons of Thai foods, nam prik kapi, seafoods, french fries, and steak dishes, you will be satisfied with your choices here for sure!
What I Ate: I ordered a plate of spicy thai fried meatballs called “Lab moo tod” and they are very delicious! I highly recommend them, especially good for beer drinking
The Staff: There is plenty of staff, just raise your hand and they are there to help you, and always there to refill your beers and drinks
The Bathroom: The bathrooms here are nice, big, and clean, there is no tissue, but there is a dispenser machine on the wall you can buy tissue for 2 baht

Conclusion:

Extras: When you first arrive and walk upstairs there is also video games, 2 basketball machines, live band, karaoke rooms, billiards, this place is packed with things to do

Huge Thai model named “Chompoo” I see her Esplenade today!

August 7, 2010

I just seen the big Thai star and celebrity model named Chompoo Areeya at Esplenade in Ratchada today. Just minutes ago. All of us living here or visiting here in Thailand see Chompoo Areeya on adverts all over the cities, but to see her in person was a bit surreal, very neat.

She’s even more pretty in person!

Now I’d also love to see Pachrapa Chaichua someday, aka Aum, pleaseeeee!!!!

American style Chilidogs in Bangkok

August 6, 2010

If you are like me, sometimes even the most simple basic American-style foods are missed sometimes. While I was shopping in Carrefour yesterday, I realized they have all the ingredients needed to make my own chili dogs!

Hot dogs from their meat department, sliced Kraft cheese, hot dog buns, and the only chili I could find was “Amy’s Organic Chili”.

They tasted great guys! I hope this opens your eyes to see, you can still get some of those foods that you missed so much from back home 🙂

Enjoy

Thailand Pet Expo 2010 Pics

July 24, 2010

The Thailand Pet Expo 2010 was filled with tons of people today, Saturday July 24th. Every aisle was jam packed and there were mini traffic jams of people, pets, big dogs, little dogs and pet strollers. It was a lot of fun, to see everyone’s beautiful animals, whether it was the big huskies and great danes, or the most popular little dogs like the pommeranian (poms).

The fashion show was nice, with young models modeling cute new dog handbags and even had a show of some hip hop dancers and a dog riding in an automatic car!

I would like to thank Boonma (www.boonma.com) Moving and storage company for giving us our cute little stuffed animal teddy bear, and to all the exhibitors for putting a great show, all the fans and customers for showing great support for these wonderful little cuties and also, thank you to the animals, pets are a great friend and family member to all of us, if you give a pet the chance, they will love you unconditionally for the rest of your life!

Also, please support The Society for Promotion of Animal Welfare, SCAD Bangkok, and PETA Asia Pacific (PAP)

July 23, 2010

I just can’t get enough of these thai style instant noodles. For example these extra spicy YumYum Thai Spicy instant noodles, this is Tom Yum Kung flavour. Aroi mak mak!

I’m pretty sure Mama soup noodles are the most comment and popular in Thailand, but I decided to try this YumYum brand since they have the extra spicy looking container, and they are delicious!!!

Beirut Lebanese Restaurant

July 21, 2010

Beirut Lebanese Restaurant
“Best lebanese food in Bangkok”
Open everyday 10:00am – 12:00am
Website: none
Call: 02 632-7448, 02 632-7054 (Silom Branch)
Address: Silom Branch, Silom 64 Building, 1 Floor, Silom Road, Bangkok 10500 (there are 2 more branches in Ploenchit and Bumrungrad Hospital)

Beirut is definitely 1 of my favorite restaurants in Bangkok. I have to admit, when I arrived to Beirut restaurant my friend and I were totally hiw kaw (hungry) but when you see this menu, it’s massive filled with tons of great middle eastern options. The service is great, the food is wonderful and the location couldn’t be better, very convenient in the heart of the Bangkok tourism area Silom road and Patpong area.

The Menu: The Beirut menu is just crazy awesome! We took about 20 minutes just trying to decide what to get, there are too many GREAT options. We ended up going nuts, ordering a lot of foods! The menu has everything from lebanese foods, burgers and fries, fish and chips and many sales, soups, dips, and others! You will be awe’d with their size of menu
What I Ate: There were too many great choices to choose from, but we ended up ordering the Motabel aka Baba ghanouj, Muhummara, Fatouche, Falafel Sandwich, Pita breads, Shich Taouk with rice, and Shawarma Chicken with french fries. We ate it ALL! Beirut will get my vote as top 5 restaurants in Bangkok that I’ve tried so far
The Staff: The staff was nice and took our large order with only memory, no pen and paper, he got everything correct 100%
The Bathroom: I didn’t see any restrooms here, but there is a hand washing area in this Silom branch

Conclusion: In conclusion, Beirut is now amongst my top 5 favorite restaurants in Bangkok, and I’ll be going back there on a regular basis, I can see why Beirut is the top seller on the popular Bangkok food delivery website Food By Phone
